About Safe Haven Accounting

Chelsey Gonzales is the founder and CEO of Safe Haven Accounting LLC, a boutique bookkeeping firm based in Snohomish County, Washington. She launched Safe Haven Accounting in 2020 after more than a decade running her own coaching business and over 16 years working for a national nonprofit. Today, her work centers on a clear mission: to simplify finances and strengthen the heartbeat of small businesses through accurate bookkeeping, strategic insight, and approachable guidance.
Drawing on a deep background in nonprofit operations and small business management, Chelsey specializes in serving women leaders, service-based businesses, and nonprofits. She’s known for turning messy or confusing books into clean, reliable financials and translating the numbers into plain-language insights owners can actually use to make decisions with confidence.

Chelsey is a QuickBooks Advanced Certified ProAdvisor with an in-depth understanding of QuickBooks Online. Whether you need a brand-new setup, a cleanup of an existing file, or an ongoing bookkeeping partner, she’s equipped to streamline workflows, build helpful systems, and troubleshoot issues so your financial data stays accurate and dependable.

Committed to continuous learning, Chelsey has completed the Intuit Professional Bookkeeping program through Coursera and holds a Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT Professional certification, reinforcing her expertise in both bookkeeping and donor management. Her approach is guided by integrity, clear communication, and a commitment to empowering clients with clarity around their finances.
Outside of work, Chelsey is a devoted wife and mom and a long-time animal welfare advocate. She and her husband, Matt, share two sons named Gabriel & Logan, along with three rescue cats and a dog. Over the years, she has volunteered with animal shelters and rescue organizations, bringing the same compassion, empathy, and sense of responsibility to her community that she brings to every client relationship. Chelsey currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Marysville Police Foundation & Everett Community College Foundation.
